Compare Autoresponders to Properly Choose One

As marketing is indispensable to any business, so is an autoresponder to any self-respecting online marketing program. It is a valuable program that will help an online marketer to send out many of their marketing materials such as newsletters, catalogs, promotional emails, tutorials, and other materials which you can send online. This tool is also a great way to gather data for you and allow you to only do one command for multiple email marketing tasks. Many online marketers swear by their effectiveness and would gladly recommend it to any online entrepreneur. They also would like to recommend that before using one, especially if you're going to purchase them, that you compare autoresponders first to see which one would be best for you.

Searching for autoresponders is the least of your problems, all you have to do is a simple online search and you will get a yield of thousands of results. This is where your dilemma lies, choosing which one to use. Some find it easy to do, just pick the cheapest one and that'll do.

It would be nice if it was just that easy. But since you plan on making money with your business and not give it away, we'll try to compare autoresponders first. There are several factors that you may need to compare autoresponders. First is the type of hosting that they provide. There are three basic forms of hosting, remotely hosted, locally hosted, and desktop hosted. In the first, the hosting will be from your provider's location and will be operated from their website. Provided with your own email account, you will be able to retrieve and send messages sent to you from your customers and clients. This type of hosting service generally requires a minimal monthly hosting fee.

Locally hosted autoresponders are located on your own web server and will allow you full control of your program. You have to purchase the whole program to have it installed on your server. But that's only a one-time fee and you won't have to pay a monthly service fee. Desktop hosted autoresponders generally work the same as the previous type and will be installed in your own workstation, especially if you don't use a server and you only have a small home office.

The next factor to compare autoresponders would be their limitations. Like any other program, the less you pay for the service, the fewer features there will be. But this is a good option for those that don't really have much demand on their autoresponders. If you're not planning on creating several mailing lists, then stick to a plan which will only provide the limitations that you need. The limitations will include the number of messages it can send, number of follow ups, the size of the message, and the freedom of customizing your messages.

Then finally you can get to the price. If you think that the cheapest one would give you the best value, and you don't need the other features that the other autoresponders have, then by all means choose the cheapest one.
